Deep-fried squabs are dubbed one of the three best foods to eat in Guangming District. Young domestic pigeons ranging between 25 and 28 days old weighing an average of 500 grams are typically braised in herbal sauce and then deep-fried for a couple of minutes to a crispy yet tender texture.

A must-try dish of the district is the deep-fried squads at Guangming Guesthouse. The property sells over 1 million squabs each year.
