Lenovo lab and pilot test base unveiled in Guangming

Lenovo unveiled its new intelligent manufacturing lab and pilot test base in Guangming District recently, marking a significant step toward providing comprehensive intelligent manufacturing services to tech firms.


Situated within the Lenovo Southern Intelligent Manufacturing Base, the facility spans over 2,000 square meters, housing production areas, warehouses, and laboratories. With Lenovo's investment exceeding 10 million yuan (US$1.38 million), the test base boasts a team of 50 engineers, service management personnel, and over 150 production operators.


Designed to leverage Lenovo's technological expertise, resources, and industry-leading supply chain advantages, the base focuses on intelligent manufacturing processes. It specializes in developing various intelligent products like smart modules, terminals, healthcare solutions, and cutting-edge robotics. By offering services in concept validation and technology financing, the base aims to accelerate the transformation of technological achievements into marketable products.


The base has already initiated collaborative projects with over 20 technology enterprises, particularly in sectors like robotics, smart IoT hardware, industrial control systems, and innovative healthcare solutions. The base will drive digitalization and intelligence transformation in traditional manufacturing industries, enhance production efficiency, and elevate product quality through advanced manufacturing technologies.


Meanwhile, the base will concentrate on emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence, big data, and the Internet of Things, providing technical support and experimental platforms to propel the growth of new industries.


The base is poised to become a pivotal force in driving advanced manufacturing in Guangming District, serving as a model for the sector's transformation and upgrade. With years of experience in intelligent manufacturing, Lenovo has cultivated a robust "manufacturing as a service" system, facilitating the full spectrum of production processes.


By nurturing collaborative innovation at the base, Lenovo has successfully incubated groundbreaking technologies like dexterous robotic hands and eVTOL aircraft, showcasing the potential for technological advancements in various industries.
