Recently, Forbes China announced the results of its first-ever Investment-Worthy Startups 100 Selection Series list, spotlighting emerging companies demonstrating exceptional technological innovation and commercialization potential.

Among the honorees, two enterprises from Guangming Science City, Shenzhen BJR Biomedical Technology Co. Ltd. and Shenzhen CellBri Biotechnology Co. Ltd., secured coveted spots, underscoring Guangming's growing influence in the global tech arena.

The selection process invited candidates via self-nomination, recommendations from investment institutions, and other channels. Each contender was evaluated on multiple criteria, including revenue size, R&D investment, intellectual property portfolio, and market potential. The final 100 companies span critical sectors such as artificial intelligence, biomedicine, and new energy.

Established in 2019 by a team from prestigious institutions like The Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, BJR specializes in label-free high-content microscopy technology designed for brain science research and application. With nearly 20 international patent applications, BJR's cutting-edge tools have found extensive applications in both foundational brain science research and clinical translation.

CellBri focuses on synthetic biology innovation, developing entirely domestically produced digital equipment for cell and gene therapy (CGT), thereby breaking international technological monopolies in the field.

Despite being a relatively young company, CellBri has garnered numerous accolades, including the national Specialized and New "Little Giant" designation and the top prize at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's Disruptive Technology Competition. These achievements have cemented CellBri's status as a trailblazer in the synthetic biology equipment sector.

The recognition of these two Guangming-based startups not only celebrates their individual accomplishments but also highlights Guangming Science City's vibrant startup ecosystem and its critical role in driving China's next wave of technological breakthroughs.
