On July 4, the second Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) Shenzhen Campus Sci-Tech Achievement Matchmaking Conference was held in Guangming District, spotlighting 100 cutting-edge scientific and technological innovations with strong industrialization potential.
These breakthroughs span key sectors including biomedicine, high-end equipment, artificial intelligence, electronic information, and new materials, and energy.
The conference aimed to create an efficient platform that bridges universities and enterprises, fostering meaningful collaborations to accelerate the commercialization of academic research achievements.
A significant milestone was reached at the ceremony when Guangming District and the university signed the Cooperation Agreement on Deepening Industry-Academia-Research Integration and Cultivating Innovation Talent.
This collaboration is designed to align closely with Guangming Science City's development needs, enhance synergy between university and industry resources, and create a comprehensive University-centric Sci-tech Innovation Zone. This zone will integrate research and development, commercialization, startup incubation, and talent cultivation under one umbrella.
Professor Gao Song, president of Sun Yat-sen University, highlighted that the Shenzhen Campus now houses 17 schools and departments and has produced significant scientific and technological breakthroughs. He emphasized that the university will continue to align with Shenzhen's “20+8” industrial clusters and Guangming Science City's development plan to contribute SYSU's expertise toward regional innovation and growth.
