A high-profile innovation and application exchange salon focused on gas sensor technology was recently held in Guangming District.

Jointly organized by the District Industry and Information Technology Bureau, Fenghuang Subdistrict, China Sensor and IoT Industry Alliance, and Silicon Sensors, the event aimed to showcase the subdistrict's attractive business environment while fostering expert and entrepreneur collaboration to drive investment, deepen partnerships, and promote mutual growth.

According to industry forecasts, the global gas sensor market is expected to reach US$1.7 billion by 2025, with China's market projected to surpass US$2 billion between 2025 and 2030. Guangming District, where Fenghuang Subdistrict is located, has witnessed rapid expansion in smart sensor manufacturing and is positioning itself as China's largest smart sensor cluster. Situated within the industrial transformation zone of the Guangming Science City, Fenghuang Subdistrict is tasked with developing the Greater Bay Area's first dedicated smart sensor industrial park, serving as a pivotal platform for commercialization and innovation.

At the event, Fenghuang Subdistrict highlighted its six core advantages that contribute to a superior business ecosystem: efficient transportation networks, comprehensive commercial facilities, high-quality education resources, advanced healthcare services, livable housing options, and a wide range of pro-business policies.

Fenghuang Subdistrict focuses on strategic sectors including ultra-high-definition video displays, new energy, smart sensors, and synthetic biology. The subdistrict has successfully attracted leading enterprises, numerous national-level “Little Giant” specialized companies, and top industry champions. Currently, it hosts 19 “Little Giant” enterprises, 13 publicly listed companies, and three manufacturing sector champions. Notably, Fenghuang pioneered a “chain-based pre-investment” strategy, analyzing industrial chains and arranging incubation platforms ahead of land auctions to guarantee readiness.

The salon also spotlighted cutting-edge technological advancements and industry integration in areas such as fiber-optic laser sensing, micro metal oxide sensors, and optical metasurface sensing through presentations from leading experts and corporate representatives.

During the industry exchange session, participants engaged in in-depth discussions on technological innovation, challenges and opportunities for application deployment, and the ways Guangming District and Fenghuang Subdistrict's industrial ecosystems can empower enterprise growth and development.
