Chinese medical device maker Medcaptain has secured two parcels of land for the development of a high-end smart medical device headquarters and manufacturing base in Guangming District.

The two sites cover about 20,800 square meters, with a planned combined floor area of about 99,500 square meters. The headquarters will house strategic planning, global marketing, supply chain and research and development functions, while the manufacturing base will focus on smart infusion systems, anesthesia and respiratory equipment and other high-end medical devices.

The project is expected to generate annual output of at least 1.4 billion yuan (US$194 million) once fully operational and attract talent while strengthening cooperation across the medical device supply chain.

Medcaptain is a national-level “Little Giant” company and has been listed among Hurun’s global unicorn companies. It ranked 35th in China’s 2025 medical device R&D strength ranking and holds leading positions in areas including drug infusion and minimally invasive interventions.

The project is expected to further strengthen Guangming’s medical device industry as the district develops an innovation ecosystem linking basic research, technology development, commercialization, financing and talent.
