BTR New Material Group, a global leader in lithium-ion battery anode materials that grew out of Guangming District, reported strong growth in the first half of 2026 as its Indonesian operations expanded.

The company reported revenue of 10.22 billion yuan (US$1.43 billion) for the first half, up 30.4% from a year earlier. Its Indonesian subsidiary generated 1.71 billion yuan in revenue, up 161%, and posted a net profit of 165 million yuan.

BTR’s first-phase Indonesian anode materials project, with an annual capacity of 80,000 metric tons, began operations in August 2024. Its second phase has also entered full operation, bringing the Indonesian production base’s total annual capacity to 160,000 tons.

The facility is the first overseas production base operated by a Chinese anode materials company and fills a gap in the anode materials industry for lithium-ion batteries in Indonesia, according to the company.

BTR has adopted a dual-base model in Indonesia, with one facility producing semi-finished materials near resources and energy supplies, and another producing finished products closer to ports, markets and policy support.

The Indonesian operations now supply major battery manufacturers in Japan, South Korea, Europe and the U.S., while also serving Chinese customers operating factories in Southeast Asia.
