Recently, Guangming-based Weiguang Biological Products Co., Ltd. said that it had received a final acceptance report from the Belarusian Blood Transfusion Center, marking the completion of a blood product technology transfer project between the two sides.

The company said it is the first Chinese enterprise to complete a technology transfer project involving blood products.

Launched in December 2022, the project was carried out in three stages, all of which passed acceptance on their first attempts. Weiguang delivered technical documents in December 2023, while Belarusian technicians traveled to China for full-time training in October 2024 and all successfully completed the program.

The company later sent technical personnel to Belarus to inspect production conditions and provide on-site process guidance. The project subsequently completed trial production of human albumin and human immunoglobulin for intravenous injection.

Cross-testing by both sides found that the intermediate and finished products met the relevant requirements of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia and Belarusian quality standards, the company said.

As a state-owned enterprise, Weiguang Biotech said it has been supporting China’s opening-up efforts and participating in high-quality Belt and Road cooperation through international industrial partnerships.

The project provides practical experience for Chinese biopharmaceutical companies seeking cross-border technology cooperation and expanding the international application of domestically developed pharmaceutical technologies.
