Shenzhen's Guangming District and Belarus's Gantsevichi District of Brest Region officially established friendly exchange and cooperation ties during a signing ceremony held in Guangming District on April 17.

The ceremony was attended by a delegation led by Rafalovich Viktor Anatolyevich, chairman of the Gantsevichi District Executive Committee, alongside representatives from the Guangming District Government and local companies.

"I have a wonderful impression from my visit to Guangming District," Anatolyevich told Shenzhen Daily during an interview. "We have already signed memorandums with two companies here. We invest friendship in the prospects of our interaction and cooperation," the chairman said.

The signing of the Memorandum of Friendly Exchange and Cooperation marks a new institutionalized and diversified phase of partnership between the two districts.

Under this cooperation framework, Guangming and Gantsevichi aim to jointly build livable cities and deepen multi-sector collaboration, focusing on life and health, sustainable development, and other areas. Both sides will leverage complementary strengths in ecological resources and innovation through a long-term cooperation platform to promote mutual learning and resource sharing.

This partnership reflects Guangming District's practical efforts to develop into a modern, international urban district, as well as its strategic move to align with national policies promoting high-level opening-up, injecting fresh impetus into regional high-quality development.

Gantsevichi District is Guangming's third international district partner, following the establishment of friendly ties with the Tsentralny (Central) District of Minsk, Belarus, and Badalona City in Catalonia, Spain.

Currently, Guangming District is accelerating its transformation into a world-class science city. Capitalizing on technological innovation and enterprises' global connections, the district actively expands economic, technological, trade, and cultural exchanges with key international partners to foster closer global cooperation.

On the same day, the Belarusian delegation toured key sites in Guangming, including the Guangming District Urban Planning Exhibition Hall — a one-stop center that offers a comprehensive overview of the district's strategic vision, technological achievements, and urban development progress, highlighting its spirit of innovation.

They also visited Hongqiao Park, a celebrated local landmark known as the Guangming Red Ribbon for its iconic red bridge surrounded by lush greenery.

Other stops included several local enterprises to gain insight into Guangming's growing biological and medical equipment industries.
