Qixi Festival is a traditional Chinese holiday that symbolizes the beautiful love story of the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl and expresses the profound emotions of unwavering love and lifelong commitment between lovers. It falls on Aug. 22 this year.
The Shenzhen Guangming WeChat account recommends several places perfect for photography and dates on this special day:
Hongqiao Park
With its 4-kilometer-long Red Bridge, Hongqiao Park connects to Xincheng Park in the west and the marathon greenway in the east. The bridge overlooks like an elegant and dynamic red ribbon floating in the air. The park is characterized by winding paths through undulating mountains and vast lakes, with a high forest coverage rate of 91.8%. Walking through the natural oxygen bar and enjoying the ecological corridor is truly refreshing. The Red Bridge hidden among the green forest is especially charming, which offers a high rate of picturesque views with the bridge as the main subject and lush mountains as the background.
The harmonious combination of vibrant colors creates a beautiful scenery. Every random snapshot while walking on the bridge captures a picturesque image.

Guangming Cultural and Art Center
As northern Shenzhen's largest and most comprehensive cultural and art venue, Guangming Cultural and Art Center's design is eye-catching. Its architecture adopts the style of Lingnan traditional houses with stacked courtyards. Its main entrance's design looks like a crescent moon, an attractive feature symbolizing an open door to the realm of literature and art. The building's interior features a large "landscape courtyard" layout formed by the Chinese character "回," which means to return or to circle. Tall and independent buildings surround the courtyard, interconnected by corridors, showcasing the perfect combination of traditional and modern elements.
During weekends, many come to visit the center to take photographs, with its façade a popular photo spot. The calm lake outside the center forms a reflection, adding symmetry and beauty to photos. The art gallery's black-and-white spiral staircase is also a highly photogenic spot as its low saturation gray backdrop connects with the pure white staircase, creating a sense of lines and design.

Located on the bank of Maozhou River, the park features high-tech steel structures, colorful corridors, clear water pools, lush lawns and a V-shaped bridge spanning Maozhou River. These elements combine to perfectly blend natural scenery with technological culture, with clear blue skies and white clouds reflecting on the water during the day, adding a touch of romance. Running freely on the green fields, enjoying the light breeze and abundant greenery and listening to the murmuring water offers visitors perfect ways to relax.

Minghu Urban Park
The park extracts elements from "mountains, water, forests, fields, lakes, grass and sand," forming the "seven realms of Minghu" and creating a vibrant environment encompassing vitality, human culture and ecology. Walking on the bridge and witnessing the interplay of lake and mountain views, watching graceful egrets fly against the backdrop of the sky and admiring the endless green meadows, every step brings a poetic and picturesque experience.
The park also features a themed children's activity area called "Colorful Butterfly Flying," which includes a spaceship model, airplane slides, climbing nets, trampolines, swings and other play facilities.
