A psychological service project by Guangming District's Political and Legal Affairs Commission won a national award Sept. 9, Bao'an Daily reported.
The project, Innovating Grassroots Social Governance and Creating a 500-meter Social Psychological Service Circle, was named the 2023 National Innovative Case of Social Governance.
In recent years, in accordance with the requirements of the Implementation Plan for the Pilot Project of Social Psychological Service System Construction in Shenzhen (2019-2021) issued by the Shenzhen Municipal Government, Guangming District has taken the lead in completing the construction of a three-level social psychological service system, namely, the district, subdistrict and community levels, to provide precise and detailed psychological services for local residents.
Guangming District Social Psychological Service Guidance Center
Located on the ground floor of Building 8 of Herunjiayuan Housing Compound in Guangming Subdistrict, the center covers an area of over 700 square meters and serves as the district-level comprehensive psychological service platform. It underwent an upgrade and renovation in 2021 and officially opened for operation in January 2022. It includes areas for meetings, horticulture, sand tray therapy, music relaxation, individual counseling and more, mainly providing professional mental health services to the public.
At the center, Guangming District has pioneered the "dual-core, two centers" model, achieving cooperation between the district-level and subdistrict-level centers. The district center has formulated detailed assessment rules, overseeing the daily operations of various sites throughout the district, while the subdistrict psychological service stations (V Love Homes) are responsible for offering professional psychological services.
Creating a '500-meter Social Psychological Service Circle'
In 2020, Guangming District fully utilized the social psychological service system involving the district, subdistricts and communities, both online and offline, to provide psychological counseling and humane care during the epidemic period. They set up 255 psychological service rooms in various industries and assigned personnel for on-site duty rotation, successfully creating a "500-meter Social Psychological Service Circle."
The project won the Best Citizens' Satisfaction Project Award at the 19th Shenzhen Caring Action, and was shortlisted for the 2022 National Innovative Case of Social Governance.
