Shenzhen Daily

Updated:2023-10-12

Starting Oct. 11, Shenzhen Railway Station in Luohu District operates 10 high-speed trains between Shenzhen and Shanwei, Meizhou and the Chaoshan region.

The new train services are due to the recent opening of the Guangzhou-Shanwei High-Speed Railway on Sept. 26, allowing the station to connect with the Hangzhou-Shenzhen railway network through the Ganzhou-Shenzhen and Guangzhou-Shanwei High-Speed railways.

The new services benefit travelers in Luohu and Hong Kong coming in via Luohu Checkpoint, as they now have access to high-speed trains that can take them to Shanwei, Chaoshan and Meizhou.

As part of the new schedule, both Shenzhen Railway Station and Guangzhou East Railway Station operate 12 direct intercity trains daily to cater to travelers' demands, especially those crossing the border via Luohu Checkpoint. The trains depart from the stations at 7 a.m, 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 6 p.m. and 9 p.m, with the shortest travel time between the two stations cut to 63 minutes.

Travel time between Shenzhen and southwestern cities such as Guiyang, Chengdu, Chongqing, and Kunming has been reduced. Renovation projects have improved the operation speed of the 857-km Guiyang-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway from 250 kilometers per hour to 300 kilometers per hour.

As a result, the travel time between Guiyang and Guangzhou is reduced by 31 minutes to 3 hours and 39 minutes. Additionally, the travel time from Guangzhou to Chengdu is less than 7 hours, and the travel time from Guangzhou to Chongqing is approximately 5 hours and 40 minutes.

As part of the new schedule, Shenzhen North Railway Station operates 10 trains between Shenzhen and Chengdu, Chongqing, Guiyang, and Kunming.

Under the new schedule, Shenzhen North Railway Station operates a total of 689 trains, including 477 that depart from or terminate at the station.

Luohu Station operates 192 trains, which include 46 high-speed trains and 146 intercity trains.
