A press conference for the XDS Astana Team, featuring the signing of Chinese cyclist Su Haoyu, was held at XDS’ headquarters in Guangming District on Dec. 31.

During the event, Tan Yancong, CEO of XDS Group, presented the XDS bike that will be raced by the Astana Team during the world tours in 2025.

According to Sun Weimin, vice president and secretary-general of the Chinese Cycling Association, the 24-year-old cyclist has officially signed a contract with the XDS Astana Team for the world tours, marking the return of a Chinese cyclist to compete in world tours after five years. “This is not only a recognition of Su’s personal strength but also an important milestone for the development of cycling in China,” said Sun. “I have high expectations for Su. I hope he strives in the international arena and achieves great results for Chinese cycling.”

Su expressed that joining the XDS Astana Team has made his dream come true. “I know that representing Chinese cyclists in the world tours is a collaborative effort involving both seniors and peers, as well as my personal dedication. The competitions gather top cyclists from around the world. Each competition will be an examination and an opportunity for improvement. My hope is not only to win competitions, but also to inspire more young Chinese cyclists to understand that they can stand on the world stage and compete with the best,” said Su.

Guangming District is actively promoting a cycling brand. The only training base of the Chinese Cycling Association in Shenzhen is located in Guangming. Additionally, the first fully constructed leisure cycling path in Shenzhen was built in this district. Various cycling events have been held here. These are making cycling a new hallmark for the district.
