Guangming District welcomed its latest cultural landmark, Yutang Cultural and Sports Center, which officially opened its doors on March 22.

The center is recognized as one of the "Top 10 Cultural and Sports Facilities" in the district.

The inaugural event featured an array of performances, including the district's intangible cultural heritage performance, the "Yulu Lion Dance," alongside a live performance by local band Mr. Truer. These acts highlighted both traditional and contemporary artistic expressions.

The center also announced partnerships with five strategic brands in sports, music and education to boost local engagement.

The venue launched three major themed activities: "Mr. Truer's Subject Concert," "Adventures Under the Lens" photography exhibition, and the "The King of Underdogs" basketball event, along with a free badminton experience for community members.

The concert blended education and entertainment, with musical interpretations of scientific concepts.

The "Adventures Under the Lens" exhibition showcased 90 captivating photographs that explored the development of Guangming District through the lenses of nature, culture, technology, and sports. Curated by the Shenzhen Mobile Photography Association, the exhibition is set to run until Aug. 3, accompanied by a series of mobile photography master classes.

In the coming months, the center plans to host a range of public benefit projects, including sports activities, cultural lectures, and urban exhibitions, aiming to enrich the local community's cultural fabric.

Situated in the Tianliao community of Yutang Subdistrict, the center spans approximately 16,100 square meters, with a total built-up area of around 54,300 square meters. From its initial planning stages, the center has embraced an operational philosophy centered on harmony between elegance and vitality, as well as the integration of art and sports.

Innovative green building techniques were employed during construction, fostering a design that bridges modernity with traditional aesthetics.

The new center is poised to enhance the cultural and recreational offerings in Guangming District by regularly introducing high-quality events, including provincial- and municipal-level sports competitions, exhibitions, concerts, and performances.
