Parents of toddlers aged 18–36 months in Guangming District can now enjoy free half-day and temporary childcare services right in their neighborhood.
The district is making childcare easier and more affordable. The district's health bureau, in collaboration with local subdistrict offices, has expanded its embedded community childcare network to 68 service stations. These facilities, integrated into existing, registered nurseries and community spaces, offer professional care for toddlers aged 18–36 months — including free half-day care, hourly care, emergency drop-off services, and family guidance on scientific parenting.
The initiative aims to ensure that parents who need to run errands or handle urgent matters have a reliable, nearby option while providing a safe and nurturing environment for young children.
Each childcare service point is designed to foster all-round development through a mix of engaging activities — from interactive games and storytime to music, movement, and sensory exploration — helping children improve their language, cognitive, social, and motor skills.
Guangming District plans to accelerate the development of inclusive, affordable childcare services to reduce the financial burden of child-rearing, create a safe and loving community environment, and offer comprehensive support to families with young children.
