With crisp autumn weather setting in, cycling enthusiasts in Shenzhen have a new way to enjoy the outdoors. Shenzhen Bus Group has recently launched four cycling-friendly bus routes across the city, providing seamless transport connections for riders.
The initiative allows for flexible “bus-to-bike” or “bike-to-bus” travel options.
Guangming District—known as the “green lung” of Shenzhen—has become a focal point of this program thanks to its natural environment and expanding cycling infrastructure. Two of the four new routes serve Guangming directly, making it easier than ever for residents and visitors to access popular cycling destinations.
The Cycling Line 3 (Liantang Port – Shifeng Industrial Area) terminates at Zuo’an Technology Park, a scenic riverside park along the Maozhou River. The park connects directly to a 14-kilometer greenway with rest areas and viewing platforms, ideal for family rides and leisurely cycling.
The Cycling Line 4 (Guangming OCT Farm – Zhenqian Building Bus Terminal) begins at OCT Farm, home to the Guangming Science City Cycling Service Center—the district's first comprehensive cycling hub.
The center offers bike rentals, repairs, gear sales, refreshments, and professional route guidance. From here, riders can set out on a signature leisure route that passes through OCT Farm, Guangming Lake Greenway, Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology, Jingkou Ancient Village, Guangming International Equestrian Center, and Dadingling Greenway.
Line 4 also stops at Hongqiao Park North Square, where cyclists can embark on a 2.5-kilometer lakeside loop. The park is a popular destination for both cycling and relaxation, featuring striking landmarks such as Sunshine Pavilion and Yuezaiting, as well as specialty coffee shops.
Shenzhen Bus Group plans to expand the network further within Guangming, linking the Maozhou River Greenway in the west with OCT Farm and Guangming Lake routes in the east. Meanwhile, Guangming District is advancing a broader plan to create 125 kilometers of leisure cycling paths within three years. These routes will connect 112 cultural, commercial, tourism, and sports sites while fostering a complete “cycling-plus” industry chain that includes manufacturing, smart equipment, and event hosting.
For real-time route information, passengers are encouraged to use the “Shenzhen Bus Group” WeChat service or call its hotline at 0755-83161116.
Whether seeking countryside views, riverside greenways, or modern urban spaces, Guangming's cycling routes now offer something for everyone. And with cycling-friendly bus lines in operation, starting your next ride has never been easier.
