Guangming District has welcomed its first-ever five-star hotel! The Grand Mercure Shenzhen Guangming has officially been granted five-star status by the China Tourist Hotels Association, marking a major milestone for the district’s hospitality industry.

As a premium brand under France-based Accor Group, Grand Mercure blends international quality with local character. The hotel’s design draws inspiration from Shenzhen’s city flower — the bougainvillea — symbolizing the city’s resilient and enterprising spirit. Reflecting Guangming’s distinctive identity of “Technology + Culture,” the hotel actively participates in local initiatives such as “Tickets + Accommodation” and “Travel with the Games,” encouraging guests to explore Guangming’s charm through its blend of science, art, and sports.

It offers 278 guest rooms, multifunctional conference and banquet spaces, an all-day dining restaurant, and a Chinese restaurant, catering to both business and leisure travelers. Each room is equipped with a refrigerator, 65-inch LCD television, smart toilet, and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the scenic Kaiming Park.

For recreation and wellness, the hotel boasts a 1,700-square-meter fitness center offering diverse workout programs, an outdoor heated swimming pool, and a 24-hour self-service laundry room — creating a comfortable and modern stay experience. Its exclusive airport VIP service connects directly to Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport in just 40 minutes, with check-in, baggage transfer (for selected flights), and private transportation options providing seamless convenience for guests.

As Shenzhen’s youngest administrative district, Guangming is rapidly emerging as a new model for integrated development of business, culture, and tourism. Located at the heart of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area, Guangming is within 30 minutes of downtown Shenzhen, Bao’an airport, Qianhai, and Dongguan — and just a 30-minute high-speed train ride from Guangzhou or Hong Kong. The district is known for its livable environment, with 279 parks offering a perfect balance of countryside tranquility and urban vibrancy, making it ideal for both nature escapes and “city walks.”

In 2025, Guangming’s hospitality industry recorded 311 million yuan in operating revenue in the first three quarters, up 11.9% year-on-year.
