At the grand opening ceremony of the 15th National Games on the evening of November 9, a breathtaking 174-meter-long AI-generated digital scroll unfolded as the national flag was carried into the stadium — becoming one of the ceremony’s most memorable highlights. Created with entirely homegrown AI technology, the work was more than 99% autonomously generated by artificial intelligence, blending the power of science and art in a stunning visual display.
Presented across nine circular screens, the digital artwork vividly depicted iconic landmarks of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area, including the Canton Tower, Shenzhen Bay “Spring Bamboo,” the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge, and Macao’s Ruins of St. Paul’s.
The AI masterpiece was created by DeepMeta, an artificial intelligence company based in Guangming Science City. Relying on its self-developed MasterAgent, the world’s first L4-level intelligent agent system, DeepMeta adopted an innovative “multi-agent cluster generation” model, marking the debut of collective AI intelligence on a major artistic stage.
According to the company, MasterAgent generated more than 2,000 AI agents in the early creative phase, divided into two specialized teams: one focused on researching Lingnan culture to provide cultural references for the director, while the other analyzed tens of thousands of Western and Chinese oil paintings to extract artistic styles and compositional principles. Once the creative direction was set, MasterAgent autonomously produced the 174-meter artwork — with over 99% of the content generated independently by AI.
DeepMeta’s technical director Huang Liangzhi explained that MasterAgent was trained on tens of thousands of oil paintings, combining neural networks with diffusion transformer (DiT) architectures to develop a specialized model dubbed the “Oil Painting Master.” To enable the AI to deeply integrate Eastern and Western artistic styles, the team enhanced its knowledge graph, long-text memory, and deep reasoning capabilities, while introducing multi-level style decoupling and feature fusion algorithms.
Through continuous generation, error correction, and iterative optimization, MasterAgent continuously evolved based on creative intent, working seamlessly with the human team to complete the majestic 174-meter digital scroll — a groundbreaking collaboration between human imagination and AI creativity.
