A car culture party concluded on Feb. 7 at Guangming International Auto City and Minghu Urban Park, drawing hundreds of car enthusiasts and highlighting the district’s ambition to build a new hub for automotive culture.
The event was hosted by the Urban Management and Law Enforcement Bureau of Guangming District and the district’s Culture, Media, Tourism and Sports Bureau, with support from State-owned enterprises and cultural organizations.
British television presenter Richard Hammond, known for his work on popular automotive programs, attended with his team in their first appearance in Shenzhen. Hammond joined Chinese automotive content creators for discussions on industry development, cultural innovation and the future of mobility, and test-drove several Chinese new energy vehicles.
More than 230 classic cars were showcased at the event, attracting over 350 car owners and enthusiasts from across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Organizers said the gathering aimed to foster dialogue between Chinese and British car cultures while highlighting advances in China’s automotive technology sector.
Guangming International Auto City, which spans about 300,000 square meters, hosts more than 50 domestic and international automotive brands, including luxury and electric vehicle makers. The venue is designed to provide a full-cycle ecosystem covering car selection, purchasing and lifestyle experiences.
