Guangming Science Park’s North Wing has opened a Spring Festival fair featuring flower markets, cultural performances, food stalls and family activities. Running through Feb. 15, it offers residents a one-stop destination to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

The event combines traditional holiday customs with modern technology. A wide variety of festive flowers are available for purchase at affordable prices. Organizers have also introduced innovative floral designs, including 3D-printed flowers and handcrafted pieces such as velvet, ceramic and knitted blooms, highlighting a fusion of heritage and contemporary creativity.

Performance areas feature drone light shows, robotic lion dances, and traditional acts including Sichuan opera face-changing and guqin music. Interactive robot displays and “God of Fortune” characters distributing small gifts add to the festive atmosphere.

The fair also includes food and New Year goods markets, offering traditional snacks, creative cuisine, Spring Festival couplets, handicrafts and cultural merchandise.

Special activities for families include dragon dance workshops, interactive games inspired by Chinese New Year folklore and nature-themed educational programs.
