A new phase of the Galaxy COCO City retail complex in Guangming is set to open by the end of April, bringing a wave of first-to-district brands and expanding the area’s commercial offerings.

The opening of Wing A follows the trial operation of Wing B in December last year, which drew large crowds with themed events and marked the entry of several major retailers into the district.

A range of new brands will debut in the district with the opening, spanning family entertainment, pet services, sports retail and dining. Among them are indoor children’s playground MELAND, pet-focused platform Chongpangpang and premium bicycle brand TREK. Several restaurant brands specializing in regional Chinese cuisine will also open, alongside established names such as Starbucks, McDonald’s and Adidas.

Hotpot chain Haidilao is scheduled to begin operations in early April ahead of the official opening, marking its first outlet in Guangming’s central area. Meanwhile, supermarket chain Freshippo has launched a promotional shopping campaign to build momentum for the mall’s debut.

The new wing features interconnected atriums and multi-level walkways designed to enhance foot traffic flow and dwell time. Officials said the influx of flagship and first-entry brands is expected to help shift the district’s retail landscape from basic consumption toward more experience-driven offerings. The upcoming launch is expected to further strengthen Guangming’s position as a growing commercial hub.
