The swimming pool at Honghuashan Sports Center in Guangming reopened on March 21 following a comprehensive renovation aimed at improving safety, water quality and overall user experience.

The upgrade focused on key areas including water purification systems, safety measures, sanitation and facility conditions. Maintenance teams carried out a full overhaul of the water treatment system, including cleaning filtration equipment and testing operations to ensure stable performance. The pool was also fully drained, cleaned and refilled, with water quality meeting national standards.

Safety improvements included optimizing lifeguard visibility to eliminate blind spots, repairing lane dividers and damaged tiles, and reinforcing shallow-water areas to reduce potential hazards.

Public areas such as locker rooms, shower facilities and storage areas were also upgraded, with new fixtures installed and air-conditioning systems disinfected. Cleaning teams conducted deep sanitation across high-use surfaces to improve sanitation and comfort.
