A delegation from Oakville, Canada, led by Town Councilor Scott Xie, visited Guangming District on May 9 to explore the district’s urban planning, high-tech industries and green energy development.

At the Guangming Urban Planning Exhibition Hall, the delegates reviewed plans for Guangming Science City, including major research facilities and innovation clusters. They later toured companies in battery technology, medical devices, smart manufacturing and solar energy, where discussions focused on technology applications and potential future cooperation.

The delegation also visited Hongqiao Park, where members experienced Guangming’s green public spaces and residential environment.

Officials said the visit deepened mutual understanding and laid the groundwork for future exchanges in industry, technology and urban governance.
