On May 22, the Guangming subvenue of the 2026 Drone World Congress opened at Guangming Low-Altitude Smart Valley, highlighting the district’s efforts to advance the low-altitude economy and drone industry.

The event brought together government officials, enterprises and academic institutions for signing ceremonies, base inaugurations and drone demonstrations, showcasing Guangming District’s latest achievements in low-altitude technology, unmanned aerial systems and the integration of technology and sports.

The event also featured exhibitions by companies across the low-altitude economy supply chain. Displays included drones and flying cars, drawing industry professionals to engage in exchanges and business discussions.

Four new bases were inaugurated, including a drone soccer association, an application demonstration base under the Shenzhen UAV Industry Association, and a drone soccer training base affiliated with the Shenzhen Education Group of Sun Yat-sen University.

As the event venue, Guangming Low-Altitude Smart Valley focuses on drone research and testing, low-altitude flight experiences and youth education programs. The platform aims to become a hub for technology testing, industrial clustering, application scenarios and science education, further supporting Shenzhen’s ambition to become a global leader in the low-altitude economy.
