More than 60,000 sunflowers are now in full bloom at the Guangming Herb Garden (光明百草园), transforming the 14,000-square-meter park into a vibrant sea of gold and attracting visitors seeking one of the city’s signature summer attractions.
The free public garden has become a popular destination for photographers and families, with rows of sunflowers stretching across the landscape. Visitors have compared the scenery to the iconic sunflower paintings of Vincent van Gogh, praising the bright colors and relaxing atmosphere.
According to park officials, the blooming season is expected to last for about one month. Visitors are encouraged to come during the late afternoon, when softer light provides ideal conditions for photography.
The park is also hosting a weekend market over three consecutive weekends, featuring handicrafts, intangible cultural heritage exhibits, flowers and plants, local food vendors and family-friendly activities. A sunflower seed-eating competition will also be held, inviting participants of all ages to test their speed and skills.
