The Guangming International Equestrian Center, a major cultural and sports facility project in Shenzhen, is located in the Guangming Urban Pastoral Tourism Area.
The venue adopts a glued-laminated timber structure system. The longest beam reaches 96 meters, and the timber structure span of the main stadium is 66 meters, setting a span record for similar domestic buildings.
Its design blends traditional Chinese pitched-roof elements with modern architectural language, using elevated terraces and suspended parking to adapt to the site's terrain.
It will host dressage and show jumping events in November. The complex features a standard competition arena, training grounds, stables for up to 200 horses, barrier-free facilities, and intelligent amenities, meeting the International Equestrian Federation's five-star standards.
Surrounded by lush landscapes—including Guangming Farm Grand View Garden to the north, Dadingling Forest Park to the south, and Pavilion Park to the west—the venue offers athletes and spectators a unique experience of sport in harmony with nature. Covering about 50,000 square meters, its raised arenas align with the mountain slope, while umbrella- and tree-shaped timber roofs maximize natural light and ventilation.
Inside, transparent spans and glass façades open views between indoor and outdoor arenas, merging equestrian performance with architectural artistry. Beyond serving the National Games, the center is designed as a hub for equestrian sports, industry exchange, cultural development, and community engagement in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
