Located in the heart of Guangming Science City, the Shenzhen International Museum of Art is one of the district’s newest cultural landmarks. The museum officially opened in May 2026 and is designed as a comprehensive platform for exhibitions, research, collections, public education and international cultural exchange.
Covering about 135,800 square meters in total floor area, the museum features a distinctive architectural design inspired by two parallel arks. Its facilities include exhibition halls, digital exhibition spaces, an art theater, library, lecture hall, children’s art center and artist-in-residence studios.
The museum focuses on creating connections between traditional and contemporary art, Chinese and international artistic practices, and art and emerging technologies. In addition to major exhibitions, it provides lectures, workshops and educational programs for the public, making contemporary art more accessible to visitors of different ages.
As Guangming’s international art platform, the museum is also expected to play a role in strengthening cultural exchanges within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and beyond.
