The Shenzhen Science and Technology Museum is located in the core area of Guangming Science City and is one of Shenzhen’s major new cultural and science-education facilities. It officially opened to the public in May 2025.

The museum covers about 128,000 square meters and combines science exhibitions, public education, interactive experiences, technology exchange and innovation activities. Its permanent exhibitions explore topics ranging from communications and smart industries to everyday technology and space exploration.

Rather than presenting science only through traditional displays, the museum uses interactive exhibits and hands-on activities to help visitors understand scientific principles and technological development. It offers programs for children, students, families and the general public.

The museum has quickly become an important public science-education platform in Shenzhen. Together with the Shenzhen International Art Museum and other major facilities nearby, it contributes to the development of Guangming Science City as a place where scientific innovation and public culture intersect.
