The list of Shenzhen's top 500 enterprises was recently released, with 22 companies from Guangming District making the list.

The list was expanded from the "Shenzhen Top 100 Enterprises list" released by the Shenzhen Enterprise Federation and Shenzhen Entrepreneurs Association for 15 consecutive years from 2003 to 2017.

The Top 500 list has been released for six consecutive years since 2018. The ranking is based on the enterprises' operating income in 2022.

Unlike previous years, this year's list also included six separate Top 100 sublists. The sublists' ranking is based on the analysis results of six primary indicators, namely business performance, social contributions, innovation capability, digitalization level, regional cooperation and international development level.

The scale of the listed enterprises continues to grow, with the total revenue of the list increased from 10.16 trillion yuan (US$1.4 trillion) to 10.99 trillion yuan, up by 8.11% year on year. In terms of assets, the total increased from 42.32 trillion yuan to 47 trillion yuan, up by 11.07% year on year.

Private enterprises dominate the list, with 347 in the list, accounting for 69.4%; while State-owned enterprises account for 18.2%.

Nearly half of the listed companies are concentrated in the "20+8" industrial cluster areas.
