A total of 38 key projects have been signed during the 2023 Guangming Investment Promotion Conference and the second Sensor Technology and Application Conference at the Tian'an Cloud Valley Conference Center on Nov. 10, Bao'an Daily reported.
The event attracted a group of representatives from Fortune Global 500 companies, industry leaders, and listed companies to gather at Guangming Science City.
The district government signed contracts with 18 key enterprises such as Sinopharm, Haier, Siemens, and industry associations such as China Sensor and Internet of Things Industry Alliance, and New Energy Chamber of Commerce under the National Federation of Industry and Commerce, as well as several high-quality industrial park operators such as Shangzhi Science Park and Huaqiang Creative Industrial Park. It also highlighted the district's high-quality development policies for manufacturing and commerce.
In the past five years, the GDP of Guangming District has grown at an average annual rate of 9.1%, reaching 142.7 billion yuan (US$19.56 billion) in 2022, and the growth rate ranked among the top in Shenzhen.
The added value of strategic emerging industries is about to break through 80 billion yuan, accounting for nearly 60% of GDP, the report said.
At present, Guangming District has gathered 12 enterprises with revenues exceeding 10 billion yuan, 32 listed companies, 1,911 national high-tech enterprises, and 742 specialized and sophisticated small and medium-sized enterprises.
The district boasts rich resources in scientific and technological innovation. The under-construction Guangming Science City has a planned area of 99 square kilometers, with a centralized layout of 24 major scientific and technological innovation carriers. All these facilities are shared with the academic community and open to the industrial sector, providing key support for enterprises to overcome technology bottlenecks.
Guangming District is also a national demonstration zone for ecological civilization construction, with unique ecological resources of mountains, rivers, forests, lakes, and grasslands. It boasts 200 kilometers of greenways and 279 parks, making it a district of parks.
The Guangming District Investment Promotion Service Center said that from January to September this year, Guangming District had introduced projects from 764 enterprises, including seven projects in cooperation with world's top 500 and China's top 500 enterprises, 12 projects with listed companies, and 14 projects with foreign investments.
Since the beginning of this year, the district government has organized over 30 investment promotion trips to France, Germany, Switzerland, and other countries, as well as Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan, Suzhou, Xiamen, and other key domestic cities, and held more than 10 high-level investment promotion and exchange activities such as the Guangming Science City Forum.
