Six districts in Shenzhen have secured positions in the 2023 Top 100 Chinese Industrial Districts rankings, with Longgang District claiming the top spot, Bao'an Daily reported yesterday.

The other recognized districts are Bao’an, Nanshan, Longhua, Guangming, and Pingshan.

Shenzhen's Longgang, Guangzhou's Huangpu, Foshan's Shunde, Shenzhen's Nanshan and Bao'an, Foshan's Nanhai make the top six, while Shenzhen's Guangming ranks 17th in the list, the report said.

This is the sixth consecutive year that Longgang District has secured the top position on the list of the top 100 industrial districts. The district's consistent top-ranking performance reflects its dedicated focus on industrial growth, particularly in sectors such as networking and communication, smart terminals, and ultra-high-definition video displays.

The annual rankings were compiled by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, a State-owned think tank specializing in technology and economics.

The Pearl River Delta solidifies its status as China's primary industrial hub, with 18 of its districts securing positions in the top 50 list. The concentration of industrial prowess is particularly evident in specific cities, with Guangzhou and Shenzhen each boasting six districts on the list, and Foshan standing out as the only city in the province with all five of its districts recognized in the top 100.

In this year's rankings, Guangdong excels with 21 districts featured in the top 100 list, tying with Jiangsu for the highest number of entries nationwide. Notably, Guangdong outshines in the top 10, with six entries compared to Jiangsu's four.
