Loucun Wetland Park
Loucun Wetland Park, operated by Guangming District Environment and Water Affairs Co. Ltd., was recently named as one of the top 10 municipal-level environmental education bases in 2023.
The bases were evaluated through multiple processes such as receiving recommendations from each district, preliminary material reviews and on-site evaluations by experts organized by the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment.
Over the past two years, Guangming District Environment and Water Affairs Co. Ltd. has been communicating and collaborating with relevant government departments to improve the green landscape, water ecology and water environment in the park.
At the same time, the company has fully utilized its own characteristics and cooperated with educational institutions such as schools and relevant industry associations to carry out environmental education and publicity activities.
On March 23, the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment organized experts to conduct an on-site evaluation of the park. The experts highly praised the Water Information Museum there, the park's theme and content of environmental education, the implementation of environmental education activities and the new school-enterprise cooperation model. They unanimously believed that it met the requirements of a municipal-level environmental education base.
The wetland park is located at the junction of Longda Expressway and Gongchang Road. At a glance, three circular trestles stand on the sea of flowers, complementing the romance of the sea of flowers.
Visitors can experience the waterside walk, strolling through the flowers and enjoying the sight of egrets at the same time. According to the management staff, the wetland is a pilot project for the treatment of the first rain in Guangming District. The plot is divided into several catchment zones, the first rain is collected to the storage pond, and after purification by water treatment facilities, it is used back for green irrigation, landscape ponds and replenishment of the river, which fully demonstrates the six elements of the sponge city "infiltration, stagnation, storage, net, use and row."
This sponge park is both functional and popular, allowing people to get close to nature and relax after a busy day at work, while understanding the sponge city concept and wetland culture.
Loucun Wetland Park has fresh air, large fields of flowers such as rapeseed and sunflower, shallow bottom of fish and egrets, creating a slow life model of "wetland + park, leisure + science popularization."
