Guangming District will host the New Energy-Guangming Summit on June 16 to highlight its significant contribution to the high-quality development of new energy, according to Bao'an Daily. 

The district is recognized as an advanced manufacturing hub in Shenzhen and a comprehensive national science center in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. 

Through a "four-chain integration" development model, Guangming District has established a strong foundation for the new energy industry with an output value exceeding 100 billion yuan (US$13.96 billion) in 2022. 

The district has developed an industrial chain with 98 specialized and sophisticated enterprises and six publicly listed companies in fields such as new energy storage, photovoltaic and hydrogen energy.

In the field of electrochemical energy storage, Guangming District has gathered high-quality enterprises such as BTR, Sunwoda and Shenzhen CLOU Electronics, realizing the development of the whole chain from lithium equipment, battery materials, core modules, and system integration to terminal applications.

Guangming has gathered over 20 enterprises such as Topway Solar and KSTAR in the field of photovoltaic.

It also has high-quality enterprises like Sanhuan Electronics in the field of hydrogen energy.

In terms of the innovation chain, the district has built nine major scientific and technological infrastructures such as the Materials Genome Large Scientific Device Platform and the Special Environmental Materials Device Science and Application Research Facility. The district boasts 11 scientific research platforms such as the National Electric Vehicle Industry Metrology Center and the National Environmental Protection Industry Quality Inspection Center, as well as two provincial-level laboratories and two research universities, which will strongly promote new energy industry to achieve cutting-edge technology breakthroughs.

At the same time, Supercomputing II, Pengcheng cloud brain III and other major science and technology infrastructure projects will provide application scenarios demonstration for the development of the energy storage industry.

In terms of the fund chain, the district focuses on the needs of enterprises and scientific research centers. It has established the science city mother fund, a district government investment fund, the Shenzhen intelligent sensor industry fund and other major industrial funds.

It also set up a venture capital alliance for the research and introduction of special support policies in the new energy sector.

The district has introduced a "8 + 5" industry cluster policy to provide support for new energy and other industrial development.

In terms of the talent chain, Guangming District put forward a series of preferential policies to attract young scientific and technological talents and post-doctoral degree holders.

At present, Guangming District has introduced 11 academicians and a number of cutting-edge talents. It boasts 5,200 talents from scientific research institutes, nearly three times more than in 2020, more han 80% of which are aged 35 and below.
