A delegation from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, with 20 high-quality science and entrepreneurship projects, visited Guangming Science City on Aug. 25.
The event was jointly organized by the Shenzhen Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, Guangming District Government and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
The event attracted some well-known investment institutions and financial service organizations, such as Shenzhen Angel and Shenzhen High-Tech Investment, aiming to further leverage the resource advantages of Shenzhen and Hong Kong, strengthen cooperation in innovation, entrepreneurship and venture capital.
The delegation first visited the Shenzhen Engineering Biomedical Industry Innovation Center to learn about its pioneering "upstairs and downstairs innovation and entrepreneurship complex" model. Representatives from companies such as Changchen Technology and Jebo Biotech shared their successful experiences in establishing businesses in Guangming.
The delegation then visited the Guangming Urban Planning Exhibition Hall, where they learned how the district drew on the development experience of top international "science city+industrial city" models, took into account the high-quality development needs of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and focused on building the "8+5" industrial clusters aligned with the research direction of Guangming Science City.
Subsequently, the group visited the China International Marine Containers Group Intelligent Park and participated in the promotional event for Guangming District's business environment and the support provided by the Guangming Branch of China Industrial Bank for the development of science and innovation enterprises.
The delegation also learned about various support policies in Shenzhen and Guangming District for innovation and entrepreneurship by Hong Kong and Macao youth, as well as the full-chain services provided by the district in terms of entrepreneurship guidance, policy interpretation and more.
In the afternoon, a project exchange and matchmaking meeting was held. Yu Ming, director of Guangming District's Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, stated that as one of the most rapidly developing areas in Shenzhen, Guangming District, with its first-class ecology for science and innovation and business environment, provides comprehensive support for enterprises to take root and grow. Yu extended a sincere invitation to the Hong Kong project teams, welcoming them to settle down in Guangming.
The project teams conducted special roadshows for dozens of professional investors. Within the "8-minute roadshow + 2-minute Q&A" session, they showcased their excellent projects and innovative achievements, covering aspects such as technological research and development, team structure, core competitiveness and implementation plans.
In recent years, Guangming District has always focused on the real economy and strongly supported the development and clustering of high-end industries and high-quality enterprises. Guided by Shenzhen's "20+8" industrial development layout, Guangming District, based on its own development foundation and comparative advantages, focuses on developing "8+5" industrial clusters.
It targets the emerging research economies of synthetic biology, brain science and biomedicine, cultivates two supporting service industries in science and technology, finance and technology information services, and strengthens three advantageous industrial clusters in ultra-high-definition video display, new materials and intelligent sensors.
