The Second Autumn Rowing League of Shenzhen X9 Alliance of Universities and Institutes Around X-Lake Sciensity kicked off along Maozhou River in Guangming District on Oct. 28.

This tournament is hosted by the Shenzhen Municipal Education Bureau, and jointly organized by the Southern University of Science and Technology, Nanshan District People's Government, and Guangming District People's Government. 

It is divided into three races: the Maozhou River Race in Guangming District on Oct. 28, the Dasha River Race in Nanshan District on Nov. 4, and the University City Race in Nanshan District on Nov. 15.

A total of 390 players, in 26 teams from nine universities and institutions including Shenzhen University, Southern University of Science and Technology, Tsinghua University Shenzhen Graduate School, Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School, Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen), Pengcheng Laboratory, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), competed in this autumn tournament.

The annual champion will be determined based on the accumulated points from the six subcompetitions in spring and autumn.

This year's event adopts a total score system, with the Maozhou and Dasha River races each accounting for 40% of the total score; the University City Race accounting for 20%.

Unlike the first Rowing League last year, this year's tournament is divided into two seasons: spring and autumn.

Over 300 athletes participated in the spring race, and the Shenzhen University of Technology (preparatory), Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School, and Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen) won the top three places.
