A dedicated international Internet data channel was officially opened for operation at Guangming Science City on Dec. 16, the Shenzhen Guangming WeChat account reported.

As per actual measurement, the bandwidth of the dedicated channel has a speed of 220Gbps, with average network delay reduced by about 20%, and network performance reaching the domestic first-class level.

This September, the construction of the Internet data channel at Guangming Science City was officially approved. With the support of the provincial and municipal communications administrations, the Guangming District Government organized the three major telecommunications operators, namely China Telecom, China Mobile, and China Unicom, to construct the channel. In just three months, all construction tasks were completed on schedule with high quality.

With the help of the special channel, scientific research institutions and enterprises can have quicker Internet access and information exchange.
