A ceremony was held in Guangming's Matian Subdistrict to mark the concentrated commencement of 13 solar-plus-storage projects Dec. 22, Bao'an Daily reported.

The projects have a total installed capacity of 18MW, including the Guangming District Government Platform Photovoltaic Storage Demonstration Project, the Guangming Jianfa Unified Lease Park Photovoltaic Storage Charging Integration Project, and others.

After the projects' completion, the expected annual cumulative photovoltaic power generation will reach 18 million kWh, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 16,000 cubic tons. The projects will help promote carbon peak and carbon neutrality through technological innovation, creating a green, sustainable, and high-quality development model, according to the report.

Guangming District will continue to enhance the supply capacity of clean energy, accelerate the construction of new energy power systems, and take renewable energy as the key path to accelerate the transformation of its energy supply.

At present, Guangming District has added a total of 70,000 kilowatts by making full use of idle roof resources in industrial parks and public buildings to promote the construction of photovoltaic projects.

The district government will work with new energy enterprises to promote the growth of photovoltaic, energy storage, charging, and other industries in the jurisdiction. Under the guidance of the "dual carbon" strategic goal, the energy supply sector will become the "green engine" for high-quality development in Guangming District, the report said.
