The Shenzhen-Hong Kong Cross-border Innovative Finance Conference was held in Guangming Technology Finance Building on Feb. 6, sources from the district’s industry and information technology bureau said. 

The event focused on financial development and technological innovation, aiming to advance the Shenzhen-Hong Kong cooperation and collaboration.

The conference gathered 120 guests from various institutions, including Bank of China, Hong Kong scientific research institutes, venture capital investment firms, and innovative enterprises based in Shenzhen and Hong Kong. Attendees discussed the role of finance in driving technological innovation and fostering Shenzhen-Hong Kong cross-border exchange, entrepreneurship, innovation support, and high-level talent services to contribute to the construction of Guangming Science City.

During the conference, a strategic cooperation agreement between Guangming District and the Shenzhen branch of Bank of China (BOC) was formalized, marking the inauguration of the first batch of technological sub-branches of the Shenzhen branch. The collaboration aims to deepen cooperation in infrastructure construction, industrial development, and business and investment attraction between Guangming and the Shenzhen branch. 

Furthermore, BOC International (China) Co. Ltd. and the Guangming New Material Achievement Transformation Research Institute signed a Memorandum of Understanding to drive the development of the new material industry.

This initiative provides an opportunity to explore and implement the deep integration of finance, technology, industry, and innovation to strengthen Shenzhen-Hong Kong cooperation and build a mutually beneficial financial ecosystem.
