Guangming District receives 802,300 visitors during holiday

Guangming District's main scenic spots received a total of 802,300 visitors during the eight-day Spring Festival holiday that ended Saturday, an increase of 5.8% compared to the previous year, Bao'an Daily reported.


Its tourism revenue reached 484 million yuan (US$67.26 million), a growth of 6.7%. 


Among them, Red Bridge Park, Happy Countryside, and Honghua Mountain Park-Dadingling Greenway became popular destinations for visitors.


Red Bridge Park features a 4-kilometer ecological corridor. Citizens and tourists can participate in various activities there such as the Spring Festival hiking event and a short video challenge for the Year of the Dragon celebrations.


Happy Countryside held the "2024 Flower-Beautiful Life Festival," allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the sea of flowers and experience the district's unique rural scenery. 


Guangming Farm Daguan Garden organized the "Dragon Dance and Cute Pets Celebrate the Chinese New Year" activity. Visitors can personally experience the joy of horse riding and have close interactions with horses. The intangible cultural heritage dragon dance performances also attracted a large number of tourists.


The Guangming District Cultural Center held 45 cultural activities, including handicraft workshops, lion dance performances, "New Town Artistic Charm" series exhibition of works by artistic talents from Guangming District, and the "Golden Years" classic film magazine (cover) themed exhibition.


From Feb.10 to 17, the center conducted a total of 32 sessions of handicraft workshops. From Feb.10 to 13, local lion dance troupes from Guangming were invited to perform at the cultural center, Red Bridge Park, and Happy Countryside.


Guangming Culture and Art Center organized five events for the 2024 Chinese New Year celebrations, including "Gaze of Time - OCAT's 18th Anniversary Collection in Guangming."
