In an innovative leap for logistics, the delivery time for local delicacies from Guangming District to other districts has been halved by using drone technology, Shenzhen Evening News reported.

The district witnessed the official launch of its low-altitude logistics route Saturday, a service launched by Fengyi Drones. It marked significant progress in realizing Shenzhen's ambition to build an extensive low-altitude logistics network.

This initiative introduces "Same-city Instant Delivery" and "Inter-city Express Delivery" services that promise unprecedented efficiency in parcel transport.

It takes 40-minute to deliver Guangming pigeons, a local delicacy, to residents' hands by car. Now, it only takes 20 minutes thanks to these agile drones. This service was showcased at the Fengyi Drone Operation Center in Bao'an District on Saturday.

Jiang Fei, a courier with SF Express, shared his astonishment at the rapid development and application of drones in the logistics sector. "In the past, logistics items ordered within the same city after 2 p.m. would not reach the customer until the next day, while the drone delivery service can achieve same-day delivery," Jiang said.

Peng Xiang, an engineer with frequent, urgent delivery needs, echoed Jiang's sentiment. Peng uses |Same-city Half-day Delivery" services. After learning about the drone delivery service, he placed an order out of curiosity and found the delivery to be faster. He said he would prefer to use the drone service more in the future.

This technological advancement underscores the role of low-altitude logistics as a crucial catalyst for economic growth, with applications extending across express delivery, medical transport, fresh and cold food products, and inspection services. Fengyi Drones has established a robust operational presence in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, handling over 10,000 orders daily.

The newly introduced logistics route in Guangming District significantly enhances service efficiency. The "Same-city Instant Delivery" ensures a 2-hour delivery time for Bao'an, Longhua, and Guangming districts.

The "Inter-city Express Delivery" has expanded its reach to neighboring cities, including routes like "Shenzhen-Zhuhai" and "Shenzhen-Dongguan," achieving a remarkable 4-hour delivery time between cities.
