The Guangming Cultural and Art Center played host to the subvenue of the SIUF China International Underwear Exhibition and the U30 Global Underwear Industry Summit on April 18.

Jointly organized by the China Knitting Industry Association and the Shenzhen Underwear Industry Association, this summit convened a diverse group of 30 global representatives from the underwear industry ecosystem. The attendees included experts ranging from academicians to material specialists, international fashion show directors, leading underwear brands, trend forecasters, supply chain leaders, academic institutions, research bodies, and marketing gurus.

Their mission is to propel industry growth through discussions revolving around key themes like "technological innovation," |AI+,| and the "material revolution," using fashion as a conduit and science as a collaborative powerhouse to energize the industry.

The summit featured luminaries like Zhu Meifang from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Rene Celestin, managing partner and founder of OBO, a creative and production management group, and Yu Lin, chairman of Miiow (International) Hong Kong Co. Ltd. They shared valuable insights from their respective research, brand, and supply chain backgrounds, unraveling tales of technological progress, brand prowess, industry networks, and AI's transformative role. Their narratives sparked critical reflections from varied and high-level angles, shedding light on the cutting-edge trends within the underwear industry.

Amidst plans for a 30,000-square-meter international modern fashion headquarters in Guangming, major players like Victoria's Secret and Miiow have signaled interest in establishing their footprint, anchoring Guangming as a pivotal hub for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the nation's underwear fashion arena.

The summit witnessed the Guangming Industrial and Information Technology Bureau and the Shenzhen Underwear Industry Association signing agreements with 10 industry leaders to set up headquarters and R&D bases in the district, solidifying Guangming's commitment to driving innovation in the industry.

Highlighting this commitment further was the unveiling of the "Joint R&D Base" dedicated to underwear fashion innovation. This effort aims to fuel scientific advancements in the fashion field and uplift the research capabilities of related enterprises, fostering a culture of innovation and growth.

In roundtable discussions themed "Fashion and Technology Face to Face," participants explored industry nuances such as materials, innovation, sustainability, talent development, and AI integration. The discourse underscored the importance of infusing technology across the entire supply chain, offering fresh insights and best practices to propel intelligent industry evolution.
