A new park that provides a high-quality ecological environment and public spaces for the Guangming Science City will be open to the public soon, Shenzhen Economic Daily reported Saturday.

Hongqiao Park, covering an area of 4.03 million square meters in Guangming District, is an important node in the ecological corridor connecting Nanshan District and the western part of Bao'an District.

The highlight of the park, which is a bridge called "Hongqiao," is 4 kilometers long, 5 meters wide and 8 meters high. It starts from Xincheng Park in the west and connects Marathon Mountain and Lake Greenway in the east.

Like a striking "red ribbon," Hongqiao connects Xincheng Park, Hongqiao Park and Dadingling Mountain Forest Park into a complete urban ecological area, creating a multidimensional landscape experience for visitors. It is the second-largest single-column multi-curve steel structure landscape bridge in China.

It has been reported that Hongqiao is beautiful in shape and more comfortable for walking. In the ups and downs of the mountains and natural terrain, the bridge winds around the mountain at a slope of about 5 percent, which enables visitors to easily walk the length of the bridge.

In the multifunctional sports field, the double-layer spiral ladder is connected with Hongqiao, and visitors can enjoy watching sports such as basketball, tennis and volleyball from different angles.

A panoramic tower, one of the landmark buildings in the park, can be reached by walking along Hongqiao to the Bihu area. The total height of the tower is 39 meters. Visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the city's landscape, the forest and lake when climbing the tower.
