The construction of two new school campuses in Guangming, the Affiliated Experimental High School of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Shenzhen University of Technology and the Experimental School of Shenzhen Educational Science Research Institute (Guangming), is in full swing.
With the recent topping off of the main body of the last building of the Affiliated Experimental High School of the CAS Shenzhen University of Technology, all seven buildings of the project have now been topped off.
In the following months, the project will undergo decoration and outdoor construction, which is expected to be completed in September.
The Affiliated Experimental High School of the CAS Shenzhen University of Technology, originally the Shenzhen No. 22 Senior High School, is located to the south of the Science Park of the Guangming central area, and at the intersection of Guanghui Boulevard and Louhuan Road.
The project covers an area of 34,270 square meters, with a total construction area of 82,000 square meters. Upon completion, it will be a public high school with 42 classes and 2,100 school seats.
In 2018, the Shenzhen government signed an agreement to build the CAS Shenzhen University of Technology. In March 2020, Guangming District signed an agreement with the university to build an experimental school affiliated with the university that includes departments from kindergarten through high school.
The Experimental School of Shenzhen Educational Science Research Institute (Guangming) is a nine-year compulsory education public school with 48 classes. The school was founded in August 2020 and currently uses Loucun Primary School as its transition campus. The new campus, located on Gongchang Road in the Loucun Community of Xinhu Subdistrict at the core area of Guangming Science City, is expected to be completed in December this year.
The new campus covers an area of 24,700 square meters with a total construction area of 80,000 square meters. The total investment is 520 million yuan. The goal is to build the school into a smart, international and high-quality school that will integrate new technologies including intelligent education, Internet of Things, cloud computing and big data.
The school aims to cultivate five core abilities of students: autonomy, learning ability, aesthetics, innovation and leadership.
