On Aug. 2, the Chinese Cycling Association sent a letter of thanks to XDS Shenzhen Xidesheng Bicycles Co. (XDS) for the company's long-term strong support to China's cycling events, after Chinese cyclists Zhong Tianshi and Bao Shanju won gold in the women’s cycling track team sprint at the Tokyo Olympics on the same day.
"In the women's cycling track team sprint at the Games of the XXXII Olympiad (Tokyo Olympics), Chinese cyclists Zhong Tianshi and Bao Shanju won the gold medal and broke the world record, winning honor for our country and people, as well as greatly inspiring the Chinese cycling community! The achievement by the Chinese cycling team would not have been possible without the long-term strong support of your company," said the letter.
Yao Bianwa and Zhang Peng, two athletes with China's national mountain bike team, competed with players from all over the world between July 26 and 27. The bikes Yao and Zhang ride are independently developed and produced by XDS.
On Dec. 11, 2020, XDS signed a contract with the national mountain bike team and became the designated bicycle brand of the bike team.
On May 15 this year, XDS delivered the Olympic edition bikes to the national mountain bike team. These Shenzhen-manufactured bikes debuted at the Olympics and will participate in other future top international events such as the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup.
According to a report, the frame of XDS’s Olympic edition bike weighs only 1.15 kilograms and the whole bike weighs 9.6 kilograms, which is the lightest among its type in the world.
