Rafael Saavedra, a Venezuelan national, is currently the guest relations manager of Shenzhen Nanshan L'Hermitage Hotel. Also a vlogger in love with Shenzhen, he explores the city a lot in his free time to capture every wonderful moment of the city.

Though a beginner in video making, Saavedra currently has over 17,900subscribers on his YouTube channel "Rafa Goes Around!" and over 5,400 followers on his bilibili channel "Rafa的环游记."

Not long ago, Saavedra visited Guangming to explore the district, a beautiful area that highlights both nature and technology and embraces tradition as well as modernity.

He visited Guangming Science City, toured around Mahogany Culture Town, walked along the stone lanes at Loucun Village, cycled along Maozhou River and explored Hongqiao Park. Through his camera lens, the Venezuelan has showcased the unique charm of Guangming. Here he has witnessed the history that has spanned hundreds of years and has also experienced a dynamic future.

"After having the chance to come to Guangming, I get to know my city better," said Saavedra, "I say 'my city' because I believe that I am one of the Shenzhen people. I'm part of this city."

"I feel with more and better knowledge about Shenzhen and the surrounding areas and the new developments, the new plans and the new projects coming in the future. That will make Shenzhen as a model city for the rest of the world," said Saavedra.
