Representatives from the district education bureau and Experimental High School Affiliated to CAS Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology briefed citizens on the construction of the district’s school seats and newly built schools.

According to Huang Hanbo, director of the Education Bureau of Guangming District, by 2025 the district will add 68,800 school seats for basic education. Among them, 11,400 school seats will be for high school, 49,400 for compulsory education and 8,010 for public kindergarten.
"This year, we will build one district public high school, the Experimental High School Affiliated to CAS Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, which will provide 2,100 high school seats, as well as three schools for compulsory education including Huaxia Middle School, Experimental School of Educational Science Research Institute of Shenzhen (Guangming) and Guangming Xinghe Primary School Affiliated to South China Normal University," Huang said. "We will renovate and expand two schools, namely Yulv School and Gongming Primary School, which will add 7,260 school seats. A total of seven kindergartens are expected to be constructed, which will add 1,080 school seats."
To push forward the high-quality development of Guangming education, the district has two major measures. One is to promote mechanism innovation and the other is to establish a sound guarantee mechanism for school construction.
In addition, Guangming District will expand its high-quality education resources by bringing in quality-education resources and talents, strengthening the development of the district's schools and cultivating the district’s teachers.
In recent years, the district cooperated with renowned universities and scientific research institutes in running schools and kindergartens, which are distributed across six subdistricts. For example, the Experimental High School Affiliated to CAS Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology is cooperating with the CAS Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, and Xinghe Primary School Affiliated to South China Normal University is a joint effort of Guangming District Government, South China Normal University and the Galaxy Holding Group.
Teachers are a key to education development. Guangming District has kept optimizing its talent introduction mechanism. Over the past two years, the district has introduced 10 educators accredited as "famous principals" and 107 educators accredited as "famous teachers." It has introduced a total of 503 graduates from renowned universities including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Fudan University and Beijing Normal University, 85 percent of whom have obtained a master’s degree.
