It ranks among the top three globally in terms of shipment volume of large-size panels for ultra-high-definition video displays. By 2022, the industry's output value had exceeded 70 billion yuan (US$9.6 billion), with a possibility of reaching 140 billion yuan by 2025.

The district is home to numerous brand manufacturers like China Star Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd, covering upstream material equipment, midstream panel manufacturing and downstream applications. It has initially formed an industrial chain for ultra-high-definition video panel displays, ranging from optical glass, polarizing films, color filters, modules, to display screens and complete machines. The industry has become a new display industry cluster with certain influence in China.

In the future, Guangming District will focus on the development of new display devices, panel production, terminal manufacturing and applications to build a core-leading region for the ultra-high-definition video display industry. It will establish a unique industrial chain for ultra-high-definition video panel displays with Guangming characteristics, providing a solid industry foundation to accelerate the construction of a world-class Guangming Science City and the North Center of Shenzhen.
