Guangming District has formed a relatively complete system for raw material and formulation production in the biopharmaceutical sector. It has also gathered scientific facilities such as bio-research, brain analysis and simulation, material genomics and the Shenzhen Bay Laboratory, with strong technical research and development capabilities and industrial development potential. By 2022, the total output value of the biomedical industry in Guangming District had reached 3 billion yuan, with a possibility of exceeding 25 billion yuan by 2025. The district focuses on supporting the development of new vaccines, antibody drugs, cell and gene therapy, and other fields. It has already formed a relatively complete industrial chain.

Currently, the Shenzhen Bay Laboratory has cooperated with China Resources Group and Luye Pharma Group to jointly build research and development centers and has attracted multinational pharmaceutical companies such as Ferring Pharmaceuticals from Switzerland to settle in Guangming. The implementation of the above projects will strongly support the high-quality development of the district's biopharmaceutical industry. 

In the future, Guangming District will focus on the development of innovative drugs, new dosage forms and high-end formulations, modern traditional Chinese medicine, etc. It will continue to focus on high-end bioproducts and the innovative drug industrial chain, comprehensively strengthen the development of professional technical service platforms and create an output value exceeding 10 billion yuan.
